Due to some birders are asking the possibility to do a schedule tour between June to July 2010 as can not meet other companies' scheduled tour dates.
So we decide to schedule a tour between 1st July to 20th July and start at Chengdu and ends at Chengdu.Tang Jun is the leader and guide.The price is lower as Tang Jun can not that as professional on indentify the birds as the leaders from other UK birding companies eapecially on Warlbers.But based on Tang Jun's 6 years guiding experience thus no problme to help identify almost all important birds,know the right sites and no problem on logistics arrangements.

The route most like as follow:
1st July arrival at Chengdu and meet other participants.
2-5 July Stay at Wawu Mountain for birding
6 July drive to Rilong where is the base of Mt Bang Lang and Wolong area
7-9 July Balang Mountain and Wolong area
10 July drive to Maerkhang
11-14 July Mengbi Forest/Mountain, Hongyuan and Ruoergai
15-18 July Jiuzhaigou NP and around
19 July a full day drive back to Chengdu
20 July fly off
Total 260-300 birds are possible include 10-14 pheasants and other endemic birds.
So far have 4 person show the strong interestings and the tour is almost guarantee to departure.
Price is possible to ask and the costs include almost all ground costs such as twin share good accommodation with private toilet, private ground transportation by 4WD(when below 4 person) or mini van,all necessary entrance fee and permits for the NR,all meals with soft drinks,one SW telescope for share,tapes for calling the birds etc.Tang Jun's guide service.
Packed food include: hot drinks (tea and coffee), meat, bread, instant noodle, fresh fruit etc.
Exclude the items of personal nature such as hard drinks, flights, insurance and tips etc.

Now we got 3 bookings already thus the tour is guaranteed to departure.
The detailed itinerary mostly as follow but subjecked to be adjusted a little bit due to the traffic control policy after the earthquake between some sites.
But we will try to not miss any sites for birds.
1 July Day 1 arrival at Chengdu and meet other participants.
We will arrange different airport pick up, thus need you send us your flight information. Depends the arrival time of Chengdu airport, we will try to arrange some city park birding. Welcome dinner for Sichuan Chinese food and meet other participants. Overnight at Shulan Hotel (3 stars) just located beside a city park.
2 July Day 2 Morning birding at Giant Panda park then drive towards Wawu Mountain, birding en route and upon the arrival at Wawu, we will start our birding. Tonight overnight at Gong Tong Hotel located at 1900m and the ends of the road.
3 July Day 3 After doing some birding around our hotel before breakfast. Then cable car (the cable car start at 0830am) up to the summit area (3000m) for a full day birding. There is a restaurant at the summit thus no problem for a good lunch. Get back to Gong Tong hotel by the last cable car (1730pm), we way drive down a little bit for birds then come back to the hotel for dinner, after doing the birds list then get back to your beds for the next early departure.
4 July Day 4 Full day birding the slope area of the mountain from 1200m-1900m by car and walk. Walk condition is quite good. o/n Gong Tong Hotel
Three nights at Gong Tong Villa Hotel and which is good with private bathroom and hot shower is available. Especially we will have a sitting room to do the list everyday.
5 July Day 5 One most of the day at Wawu and around area for birding then drive about 180km to Baoxin for overnight at Baoxin Jiajin Shan Hotel, and a very comfortable hotel located beside the river.
6 July Day 6 early morning departure by bring the packed breakfast, we drive 100km to Jiajin Mountain 4300m for birding then carry on to Balang Shan for a short scan of the habitats then down to Wolong for overnight at Tian Long hotel
7 July Day 7 We will spend a full day at Balang Shan then overnight at Rilong where 40km after the Balang Shan summit. Bring packed breakfast and lunch. Overnight at Kate hotel.
8 July Day 8 Another full day at Balang Shan again and overnight at Wolong. Bring packed breakfast and lunch. Overnight at Tian Long Hotel again.
Tian Long Hotel at Wolong and Kate Hotel at Rilong, are a little bit basic but still twin room with private toilet and possible for hot shower by electric container.
(why we have to overnight different place on 6-8 July, as there is a traffic control between Rilong and Wolong and we call one day one way)
9 July Day 9 Spend another half day at Balang Shan, then drive to Maerkang for overnight. We will have s short stop at Mengbi Shan for the next very ealy morning come back. o/n Jiarong International Hotel comfortable and Tibetan style.
10-11 July Day 10-11 Two full day at Mengbi Shan for birding. We bring the packed breakfast and may drive back to a small town for lunch. o/n Jiarong
12 July Day 12 drive to Hong Yuan and birding en route. Today we drive up to the high plateau area and grassland thus high land birds get popular.

13 July Day 13 Drive to Ruoergai and birding around 0/n Ruoergai Grand Hotel
14 July Day 14 Full day at Baxi Forest and wetland for birding 0/n Ruoergai
15 July Day 15 Last morning at Baxi, then drive to Gonggangling for some afternoon birding, then overnight at Jiuzhaigou Xinyu International Hotel
16-17 July Day 16-17 Two days inside Jiuzhaigou NR by the park shuttle bus. We may difficult to get off at the place where we looking for birds as not bus stop. So ready for some walking. Another is the first bus departure in summer at 0730am so after about 40 minutes drive to get the site maybe a little late for birds. But this is the only way we can do inside the NR.
18 July Day 18 Bring packed breakfast we wdrive back 70km to Gonggangling again for a full day birding and around o/n Jiuzhaigou
19 July Day 19 A long day drive back to Chengdu and birding en route overnight at Shulan Hotel. After a big dinner, we will have celebrate party at Traveller’s Bar beside the your hotel.
20 July Day 20 After some morning birding if possible then fly off. Depends the departure time of every participant, we will arrange different drop off at Chengdu airport.
And some parts for example Balang Shan and Wolong not allow vehicle more than 7 seats drive into, so possible to change into small cars at Rilong for the birding at Balang Shan and Wolong and no extra costs.
